Abstract. The presented article shows the results of research in the field of application of nickel catalysts in hydrogenation reactions of various classes of unsaturated hydrocarbons. It is known that nickel catalysts find very wide application in hydrogenation reactions of organic compounds, and in particular, unsaturated hydrocarbons. Thus, the work presents the results of research in the field of using nickel catalysts for the hydrogenation of alkene, alkyne, diene and aromatic hydrocarbons. Obviously, the widespread use of nickel compounds as catalysts for hydrogenation reactions is due to their high availability, efficiency and low cost, which creates good preconditions for their use in such processes. The main areas of application of these reactions are shown, and the main areas of application of the products obtained as a result of these reactions are noted. In addition, the work also shows the results of the authors’ own research.
