Abstract. During the operation of modern internal combustion engines, the motor oils used in them experience significant loads associated not only with elevated temperatures and pressure, but also with high shear rates. Therefore, when developing motor oils with viscous additives, comprehensive research, including rheological research, is required. The article presents the results of studies of the rheological properties of Baku distillate base oil M-10 with viscosity additives Viscoplex 2-670, Shelvis-50, Eridan B-1751, PMA “D” at low and elevated temperatures. It has been established that under severe temperature conditions, Baku base oil behaves like a non-Newtonian fluid. This allows us to conclude that the structure and concentration of the polymer additive taken has a pronounced effect on the rheology of the studied oil.
