Abstract. An economic and statistical analysis of the results of determining the number of operational personnel of the reforming units of oil refineries at the design stage of capital construction facilities has been carried out. It is noted that catalytic reforming is an important structural element of the technological chain of production processes of modern oil refineries. The article examines the existing approaches to determining the number of operational personnel, analyzes the relevance of regulatory documentation. A methodological approach to the analysis of data on the correctness of determining the number based on the calculation of relative empirical indicators is proposed. The relationship between the technical and economic indicators of production facilities and the number of personnel has been revealed. The substantiation of the reliability of the proposed method of data analysis was carried out, conclusions were drawn about the degree of compliance of the current standards for determining the number with the current level of scientific and technological progress and socio-economic development. The ways of improving the existing regulatory documents are proposed and the prospects for scientific research are outlined.
