Abstract. The article presents the results of the development of reagents based on plant-derived raw materials for the destruction of stable oil sludge emulsions. Vegetable oils and by-products of their processing containing higher fatty acids, mainly oleic acid, were used as the starting material. The synthesis of esters based on rapeseed and waste cooking oil (WCO) was carried out using the methods of acid esterification and alkaline re-esterification, followed by neutralization and purification of the product. It was found that the synthesized esters have high selectivity towards asphaltene-resin components and ensure effective separation of the hydrocarbon phase. The technological prospects of using bio-oriented reagents in the processes of oil-containing waste utilization were demonstrated.
Keywords: oil sludge, reagent, vegetable raw materials, rapeseed oil, waste cooking oil, oleic acid, esters, esterification, and emulsion destruction.
