Abstract. The washing properties of alkyl sulfonates in hydroisomerized oils (VHVI-4 and VHVI6) were evaluated using the method of high-temperature catalytic oxidation (HCO) in terms of the effectiveness of the actual washing action. The values of this indicator have been established for detergents with different alkalinity. It was found that highly alkaline alkyl sulfonates in VHVI-6 oil have the greatest cleaning effect.
Keywords: engine oil, detergent-dispersing additives, calcium alcylsulfonates, thermo-oxidative stability, high-temperature oxidation, detergent efficiency, hydroisomerized base oil.
