Abstract. The results of the study of the effect of paraffin emulsions on the properties of particle boards (PB) are presented. It is shown that when introducing a paraffin emulsion prepared on the basis of dewaxing slack, in an amount of 0.6% of the mass of absolutely dry chips, a significant decrease in water absorption and swelling of the PB is observed with the greatest effect in the first 48 hours. It is established that the use of paraffin emulsions as a water-repellent agent does not lead to a significant decrease in the strength characteristics of the PB.
