Abstract. This article describes the relevance of the use of Schiff bases and the synthesis of new compounds based on azomethines. From the research results it is clear that the new additive, namely 4-dimethylaminobenzylidene aminoacetophenone, has not only improved physicochemical, but also high antimicrobial properties. 4-Dimethylbenzylidene acetophenone synthesized by reaction of acetophenone and 4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde in a 1:1 ratio in the presence of methyl alcohol at the boiling point of the alcohol (65-67°C).
