Abstract. The paper shows the possibility of involving ethylene oligomers of the C16 fraction in the production of alkylsalicylate additives Detersol-140 and Detersol-300. Laboratory studies were carried out and the comparability of the physico-chemical properties of additives developed on ethylene oligomers of the C16 fraction and on ethylene oligomers of the C16-C18 fraction was established within the technical requirements of TU 0257-017-48120848 for the additive Detersol-140 and TU 0257-004-48120848 for the additive Detersol-300, as well as functional properties in terms of thermal oxidative stability according to CEC L-85-99, the induction period of precipitation according to the methodology of GOST 11063, as well as thermal oxidative stability and motor properties according to GOST 23175.
