Abstract. The initial information necessary for calculation of the physicochemical and operational properties of gasoline is the data on the group composition. The complex composition of gasoline fractions, according to CGC data, about 150–250 components, complicates the rapid determination and identification of the unsaturated hydrocarbons they contain, which represent the most important part of gasoline. Usually, it is not possible to achieve complete separation of chromatographic peaks even on high-efficiency 100-meter capillary columns. Poor reproducibility of capillary column properties requires large numbers of reference samples, making identification of separated components difficult. The combination of HPLC and QGC methods allows to simplify the procedure and increase the accuracy and speed of analysis.
