An analysis of quality indexes of motor fuels

The analysis of technical requirements on fuel specifications in various countries of Europe, Asia, Americas, Africa, Australia is carried out. Assay values have allowed to estimate how much control figures of merit match the recommendations for globalisation of fuels standards resulted in the World Fuel Charter. As control parametres for the analysis detonation characteristic, the sulphur, benzene, aromatic and olefin hydrocarbons content have been chosen. The general trend to detonation characteristic raise, while decrease in fuel of sulphur, benzene, aromatic and olefin hydrocarbons is noted.

Hydroconversion of light pyrolysis distillate into automotive gasoline component

For last decades liquid products of pyrolysis from co-products of ethylene manufactures have turned to a source of feed for production of motor fuels, individual aromatic hydrocarbons, synthetic rubbers, petroleum polymer pitches and technical carbon. In particular the С9 fraction of pyrolysis hydrocarbons (the Ethylene Plant, Nizhnekamsk) can be used as a component of high octane fuel if being additionally refined by selective hydrogenation of unstable hydrocarbons as styrene, indene and dienes with formation of aromatic hydrocarbons and mono-olefins conservation in order not to reduce octane potential. A finishing stage of refining can be desulphurization of the product up to Euro-4 demands (less than 50 mg/kg) and Euro-5 (less than 10 mg/kg).

Process design features of destructive hydrogenation processes for low cold-test diesel fuels manufacture

Features of chemical processes of destructive hydrogenation of diesel cuts of West Siberian crude are revealed. Materials of the researches led by the Achinskiy NPZ VNK OJSC and directed on examining the potential of a package of catalysts of dewaxing and hydrodesulphurization, and also on evaluation of technological parametres and their influence on quality of outgoing products are observed. Using research results, the optimum technology for diesel fuels production matching Euro-3 and Euro-4 standards is created.

Methodology of forecasting the calendar in-service time of plastic greases, keeping their secured working capacity therewith

Principles of the results analysis of the laboratory and full-scale tests for the purpose of forecasting in-service time of embedded grease, and also forecasting the residual resource of grease being in friction unit are stated. The sequence of conducting the tests and methodology of generalization, as also an analysis of diverse results estimation of physical and chemical, volume-mechanical properties, aggregate, colloid stability of plastic greases is presented.

Oil trap water-oil emulsions: features of formation, reason of high durability and traditional ways of preparation for refining

In oil preparation and refining processes stable trap water-oil emulsions are formed, 0.5-1.8 %vol. of processed oil. The problem of involving into refining such emulsions being different from traditional ones is rather actual. Absence at refineries of accessible and effective ways of preparation of these emulsions to refining can be explained by an insufficient level of knowledge in the reasons for their abnormal high stability and absence of special demulsifiers, effective in destruction of emulsions with raised mechanical impurities content. The purpose of the present series of papers being a generalisation of long-term works by the author with employees is filling of this white space in the theory of formation and practice of destruction stable high-watery oil emulsions with big mechanical impurities level.
Papers are devoted to:
• research of aggregate stability of trap water-oil emulsions of treatment facilities;
• studying of composition and properties of emulsifying agents gated out from samples of trap emulsions, and mechanical impurities and their influence upon emulsions stability;
• working out process of preparation to refining the trap emulsions with a raised mechanical impurities content;
• working out special demulsifiers.
